OASIS: A DARIUS VÖD ADVENTURE

PART III: THE WONDER WALL

Genre: Puzzle, Adventure

A Nonogram puzzler in the Vödiverse.

After ending on a cliffhanger in Part
II, Captain Crab finds himself back on
the island where it all began, his new
trusty crew in tow, minus his wofehime
Tara Gulab-Jamun, ready to assemble and
climb the long-defunct Wonder Wall.
There's just one problem: the pieces
scattered around the isle are too small
and won't hold together. The marvelous
Wonder Frame is here to help: string a
set of blocks together and fuse it with
a powerful memory, and voila! A larger,
stronger block is made.
Assemble blocks of increasing size to
reach the Infinite Pain Vortex hanging
in the sky and rescue your lifemate.

Playing via web Zeta directly on this page, restoring a save that I made puts me on the introductory text board with the marking squares controls and the hintbux counter visible, but the game is completely unresponsive outside of toggling sound, saving again (which restoring such a save simply puts me here again), or quitting.

Itch indicates that the page for the game was updated three hours ago, which is definitely after when my save was made. Did the update include changes to game files, and could that have broken my save? (Just to be clear, I have no problems with starting over.)

I have not been able to reproduce this no matter what I've tried. (I have a save from before the update as well and can reload it no problem) Can you give me some more context around when you saved?  If I can make it happen I can fix it, but there's nothing in the code that would do this so I'm at a loss

(1 edit)

I was playing on my work computer and am now at home so I can't attempt to retrieve the .sav file until tomorrow (if I can even figure out how to do so), but the save was made while in Stage One, can't remember off the top of my head if I was on the puzzle-select screen or already in one of the top two puzzles on the Assembly Step 1 board.

I'll try replaying up to that same point on my home PC and see if the issue I encountered happens there too.

UPDATE:

Got up to the intermission board after clearing all of Stage One at home, made a save on that board and restoring that worked fine, then an additional separate save made after selecting one of the Stage Two puzzles also worked fine, so I'm not sure what happened earlier either.
